As the sun shines brightly on a summer's day.
As the water runs free down Niagra'a Fall.
As the flowers bloom from each spring rain.

Like a soldier fighting for peace.
Like a mother protecting her child from harm.
Like the air filling our lungs to breath.

In the way we need money to shelter ourselves.
In the way we need food to survive each day.
In the way we need clothes to warm our skin.

My evening blanket, my comforter.
My pillow that rests my head.
My teddy bear I sleep with at night.

The heart needs blood and oxygen to beat.
The skin needs water to protect us within.
The body needs muscle to give us control.

This is our way of life, as we live each moment.
Determination to make it all happen.
Strength to complete every single task.

Yet none of these words could ever compare.
To the emotion I feel, to the love I share.
With you, and for you, more then you'll ever know.

You are the one that gives me reason to smile.
You are the one that gives me reason to laugh.
You are the one that gives me reason to hope.

Your love and honour, I am blessed with.
Your loyalty and dedication, I am greatful for.
Your determination and talent, I am admirable to.

As I sit here in silence, and try to find the words.
The comparison of life to my love for you.
It's still not possible, no phrase is ever enough.

So, I'll just tell you that you are my best friend.
My companion, my man.
